Dr. Rachel Liou, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Columbia University. She graduated from Wright State University School of Medicine, where she was a recipient of the Gold Humanism Award. She completed her general surgery residency at Morristown Medical Center in New Jersey and went on to complete her fellowship training in Endocrine Surgery at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. As an endocrine surgeon, her clinical interests include the diseases of the parathyroid, thyroid, and adrenal glands. She primarily functions out of Christ Hospital and Hoboken University Medical Center, in a partnership between Columbia University and CarePoint Health. In addition to operating on the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands, Dr. Liou also performs in-office neck ultrasounds and thyroid fine needle aspirations.
