Pain Management

Pain can be debilitating. It can have a big impact on your life and on your recovery from procedures such as surgery. Our pain management specialist is available to create a treatment plan to help get and keep your pain under control. It is important to manage pain so that you can find relief in your daily life and also heal properly after surgery.

Pain management services include:
Epidural—used to relieve pain caused by pinched or inflamed nerves, an epidural includes a steroid injection that decreases pain and swelling in the nerves and can relieve joint pain, knee pain, back or neck pain.

Trigger point injection—trigger points may irritate nerves around them and cause pain that can be felt in another part of the body. Trigger point injections treat pain at the trigger point with local anesthetic or saline and may include a steroid.

Tap block—(transversus abdominis plane block) is a peripheral nerve block that is used to numb the abdomen after surgery in order to help improve patient comfort after surgery.

Ablation—this procedure targets nerves by using radio frequency waves to heat the tip of a needle, creating a heat lesion that disrupts the nerve’s ability to send pain signals. It provides longer term pain relief than that provided by injections or nerve blocks.
