Agreement with the major
carrier to begin June 1st

Jersey City, NJ – May 3, 2021 – CarePoint Health, a leading New Jersey healthcare system, announced today it has reached an agreement with Cigna to join its network. Through this agreement, CarePoint’s three hospitals: Hoboken University Medical Center, Bayonne Medical Center, and Christ Hospital in Jersey City will be able to provide high-quality care to Cigna members on an in-network basis beginning June 1st.
CarePoint began participating with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey in 2018 and UnitedHealthcare in 2019. With the new addition of Cigna, CarePoint now participates with almost every major insurance carrier and the majority of commercially insured patients in Hudson County now have in-network access to its medical care. CarePoint plans to be in network with all major providers by summer. CarePoint continues to participate with Medicare, Medicaid, and most Medicare and Medicaid replacement plans.
The expansion of insurance options will provide more flexibility for patients in and around Hudson County and underscores CarePoint’s commitment to delivering quality care to these communities in a unique and patient-focused approach.
