Dr. Vijayant Singh is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine, and a member of a number of professional associations including the American Association of Physician Leaders and the American College of Physicians. After graduating from Odessa State Medical University and completing his Internship in India with an M.D. In Medicine and residency training at SUNY Downstate and Brookdale University Medical Center, he eventually became Chief Resident at Mount Sinai School of Medicine – Jersey City Medical Center, where he worked as an educator for medical students as well as internal medicine residents.
Dr. Singh was part of the academic hospitalist faculty at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, Connecticut prior to joining CarePoint Health in 2012 as the Director of Hospitalist Medicine at Bayonne Medical Center. While in this position, he worked to consolidate and expand the hospitalist program.
In his current role, he has successfully implemented critical care medical practices with the creation of a high-intensity intensive care unit, and has spearheaded the education and implementation of Meditech Electronic Medical Records and Computerized Physician Order Entry. Dr. Singh has also served as the Medical Director of the Neighborhood Health Center Clinic at Bayonne Medical Center since its inception in 2013.
He has published numerous articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals, and has worked as a research associate at Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York in Interventional Cardiology. He has extensive experience in international community health programs through his work with the World Health Organization in East Africa and India. His interests include community health outreach, designing innovative health care models and health care integration with population health management.
