Dr. Carmelo Milazzo was born in Italy and is a graduate of Scientific Lyceum. He obtained his medical degree at Catania University, where he worked in the Department of Neurophysiology and Vascular Surgery. His residency was at Saint Joseph’s Medical Center in Paterson, NJ, where he completed his training in Internal Medicine.
An established and highly skilled physician with many years of clinical and hospital administration experience, Dr. Milazzo is well regarded in the Northern New Jersey community, earning numerous accolades for his quality and patient-centered care.
Dr. Milazzo has more than 35 years’ experience in Internal Medicine, with an interest in Diabetes, Endocrinology and Holistic Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and Board-certified and re-certified in Internal Medicine and Quality Health Care. He has over 25 years of teaching experience in Clinical Medicine.
With a demonstrated history of working in the health care industry as an administrator for 12 years, Dr. Milazzo has an extensive background in health care management, policy, and public health. He has led several medical and social organizations including: Director of Credentials Christ Hospital and Hoboken University Medical Center; President of Hudson Medical Society; Director of Internal Medicine Christ Hospital; Director Quality Control Christ Hospital and Hoboken University Medical Center; Chairman of Guardian of Healing; Co-founder GDVS; Physician Adviser Hoboken University Medical Center; Director of Castle Hill Nursing Home; PM PGC F&AM of NJ.
He served as Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine UMDNJ-SOM, Touro College, Rowan University. He served as President of the Hudson Medical Society.
He is a recipient of the HealthCare Heroes NJBIZ, HealthCare Heroes (to deliver lifesaving medical care following the 2010 Haiti earthquake), AMA accreditation for continued leadership in providing quality care in NJ, Top NJ Physician Award 2011 to 2020.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and his dog Rocky, studying History of Art, Philosophy. His great passion is Aviation; he is a private pilot.
